How is it served?

Com tam is highly recommended by Saigonese- source: internet
A plethora of ingredients placed on top, such as cha trung (a steamed pork and egg quiche), suon nuong (marinated grilled pork chops), trung (fried egg) and bi (shredded pork skin) is served with a plate of com tam. It is also often garnished with some zingy accompaniments typical of Vietnamese cooking: lime, spring onion and mint or some lightly fried, sliced spring onions.
CƠM TẤM BA GHIỀN (Ba Ghien Broken Rice)

Cơm tấm Ba Ghiền- source: internet
- Address: No 84 Dang Van Ngu Street, Phu Nhuan District
- Opening hours: 6.00 AM – 10.00 PM
- Price: VND 70,000 (USD$3)
Of all the broken rice eateries in Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ghiền may be the most famous one. It also means that you can find the simple combination of a grilled pork chop over the top of a bed of rice at this restaurant. Ba Ghiền has resisted the urge to revamp the décor in spite of the burgeoning turnover of customers and the level of fame. Com Tam Ba Ghien, which is hidden away down a sidestreet in Phu Nhuan district, is well known far and wide for their specialty a pork chop served over broken rice or com tam suon. When walking down the street and far before you get there, you can actually smell the aroma of the pork being grilled. To receive the reward being some of the finest street food in the city, eating at this street spot, which is about a 20-minute taxi ride out of downtown, will require diners to overlook some grungy conditions. Indochina travel reviews
Visiting Ba Ghiền and you will realize that it is all about the food. Every day, this eatery attracts hundreds of diners to come to have the plate of heaped broken rice served with giant slabs of marinated pork chop on. More than a meal, you can enjoy the quintessential Ho Chi Minh City experience.
CƠM TẤM TỨ QUÝ (Tu Quy Broken Rice)

Cơm tấm Tư Quý- source: internet
- Address: Tan Dinh Market, corner of Nguyen Huu Cau and Hai Ba Trung streets, District 1
- Opening hours: 4 PM–3 AM
- Price: VND 50,000 (~USD $2)
Com tam Tu Quy is locally called as cơm tấm đêm, which means here you can find broken rice even in the early hours of dawn. Although being surrounded by a string of other late night snack stalls, Com Tam Tu Quy is still outstanding for the crisp, fresh and nicely presented broken rice. Perhaps the rice’s quality is not the best in this list, but this place really hits the spot if you are after a night out in Saigon at 2 AM.
CƠM TẤM THANH NIÊN (Thanh Nien Broken Rice)

Cơm tấm Thanh Nien- source: internet
- Address: No 570 Truong Sa Street, Phu Nhuan District
- Opening hours: 11 AM – 3 PM
- Price: VND 45,000 (~USD $2)
Cơm tấm Thanh Niên, which is a small, impromptu place with a few chairs and tables on the banks of Thi Nghe Channel, has been quietly serving customers for around 2 decades. It is simple, unpretentious food, beautifully presented with the tangy sweetness of the sườn non (ribs), which are slowly barbecued on a tiny coal stove on the sidewalk in a leafy location. My advice is to go here early to enjoy the still hot ribs and the still smoking grill.
CƠM TẤM BÀ MƯỜI (Ms Muoi broken rice)

Cơm tấm Bà Mười- source: internet
- Address: 294/35 Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Street, Binh Thanh District
- Opening hours: 8.30 pm – 4am
- Price: 60,000vnđ ($3)
Despite its location deep into of Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Street, Com Tam Ba Muoi has been popular with many Saigonese. This eatery opens from 8.30 pm to 4.00 am, when some people go out to find something to eat. It also shows you how much Saigonese love broken rice. It is likely that whenever feeling hungry, they will go for Cơm tấm.
