The drive will take about 4 hours and give you plenty opportunity to take some amazing pictures and post them on your favorite social websites for all to see as if they were actually on tour with you, life pictures on the go in complete comfort, that’s what you get from touring with Burmese Tours. With over 2,000 Pagodas and countless temples we have limited our tour to showing you just 5 temples and hundreds of Pagodas as we go around sites. The first stop could be the Ananda Temple, built by King Kyanzittha around 1090. Another interesting temple is the Htilominlo temple, built in 1218 by King Nantaungmya. The Manuha temple was built in 1067 by King Manuha and worth a visit, so is the Nanpaya temple, located to the south of Bagan. The last temple on our list of the top 5 sites to visit is the Shwezigon temple. The day will end with a visit to a local market.

Day 5: Bagan to Lake Inle

The drive from Bagan to Lake Inle is 300 kilometers and takes roughly 7 hours. On all of your tours, we never spent more than 2 hours on the road without a break for an hour to allow you time to take in more heritages from this largely un-explored land. We will pass through many small villages and each of our tour guides will have their own favorite stops for food, beverages and souvenirs.

From here we are well placed to head towards Taunggu and again the journey by road will take about 5 hours, allowing us to stop frequently along the way to see many original senses.

Day 8: Taunggu

The city of Taunggu is a popular stop on the road from Lake Inle to Bago, which is 150 miles north of Yangon (Rangoon). Taunggu was once the capital of the second of the Burmese Empires in 1486. Our tour guide will take you to see the Shwesandaw Pagoda in the city Centre which is guarded by two golden lions; this pagoda dates back to 1597. The next stop would be the Myasigon pagoda, best known for its glass mosaic and bronze images. Next, the Kaytumadi Palace which was bombed in the Second World War. The site is neglected and overgrown but gives you an idea of the importance the cities past in Burma’s history. Lunchtime and it’s got to be a trip to Lake Kandawgyi, a peaceful and tranquil setting to relax in, whilst sampling local foods.
